About this role
Make your mark as a Senior PR Executive in the PR & Communications sector, based in Aberdeen.
Aberdeen's business community has always needed people who can tell a story straight and land it with the right audience, whether that's energy sector trade press or a regional newsroom. This growing SME has built a reputation in PR & Communications by doing exactly that, and it's now looking for a Senior PR Executive to help carry that work forward. The role sits at a point where client relationships matter as much as the words on the page.
Here's what you'll be doing
Write and pitch press releases, case studies and thought leadership pieces across print, digital and broadcast media
Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors and industry contacts across Scotland and beyond
Plan and deliver PR campaigns from brief through to coverage, keeping clients updated at each stage
Monitor media coverage and produce reporting that shows clients what their PR spend is actually achieving
Support junior team members with feedback and day-to-day guidance
Manage multiple client accounts at once, balancing competing deadlines without dropping the ball
Here are the skills you'll need
A few years' experience in a PR agency or in-house communications team
Strong writing skills. You'll need to switch tone between a technical trade piece and a consumer-facing story
Confidence pitching to media and handling the inevitable "not interested" without losing momentum
Good organisation. Juggling several accounts is normal, not the exception
A genuine interest in current affairs and what makes a story land
Comfortable using media monitoring tools and pulling together coverage reports
Key perks and benefits
Salary of £25,000 to £32,500, depending on experience
Hybrid working, so you're not tied to a desk in Aberdeen five days a week
Private medical insurance and pension contribution
Annual leave allowance with flexible working built in
Bonus scheme and genuine scope to progress as the company grows
Why pursue a career in PR & Communications?
PR & Communications rewards people who can think fast and write faster, and demand for that skill set isn't slowing down. Aberdeen's mix of energy, finance and professional services firms means there's no shortage of interesting client work on the doorstep. Progress in this field tends to come quickly for people who deliver, and a Senior PR Executive role is a solid step toward account management or a communications leadership path.
