About this role
Step into this Client Services Director role and build something that matters in PR & Communications.
This Aberdeen-based agency has spent decades building relationships that other firms can only pitch for. As part of an established industry leader with 250+ staff, this Client Services Director will inherit accounts that span energy, public sector and corporate communications, sectors where Aberdeen's PR & Communications scene has real weight. The city's reputation as a communications hub built on the back of the energy industry means the stakes here are genuinely high.
Here's what you'll be doing
Own a portfolio of key client relationships, acting as the senior point of contact for strategic counsel and campaign direction
Lead account teams through complex, multi-stakeholder PR & Communications projects from brief to delivery
Spot growth opportunities within existing accounts and turn them into new scopes of work
Review campaign performance against agreed KPIs and adjust strategy when the numbers say you should
Mentor account managers and executives, setting the standard for client handling across the team
Represent the agency at client board meetings, presenting recommendations with authority
Here are the skills you'll need
Solid experience in a client-facing PR or communications role, ideally within an agency setting
Confidence managing senior stakeholders, including at board level, without losing the detail underneath
Sharp commercial instinct. You'll need to spot risk and opportunity in a client relationship before either becomes obvious
Strong writing and presentation skills. Clients judge you on both
The composure to manage several accounts at once, some calm, some anything but
A collaborative streak. This role sits above a team, not apart from it
Key perks and benefits
Salary of £46,500 to £69,000, depending on experience
Hybrid working, with the flexibility to split time between home and the Aberdeen office
Private medical and dental insurance
Enhanced pension scheme
Performance-based bonuses on top of base salary
Why pursue a career in PR & Communications?
PR & Communications rewards people who can hold a client's trust and a brand's reputation at the same time, and there aren't many industries where the two skills matter this equally. Aberdeen's position as a communications centre for the energy sector means a Client Services Director here works on briefs with genuine national and international reach. Progress in this field tends to go to people who can think several moves ahead of the client, not just answer the brief in front of them.
