About this role

Step into this Project Manager (Construction) role and build something that matters in Property & Construction.

Newcastle's skyline is changing fast, and the firms driving that change need people who can keep a site on schedule and under control. This is a established, growing business in Property & Construction, the kind of SME where a Project Manager (Construction) gets real ownership rather than a seat at the back of a big corporate machine. Projects here get seen through from first brick to handover, and the person managing them matters.

Here's what you'll be doing

Run live construction projects from pre-start through to completion, keeping budget, programme and quality all moving together

Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams, and sort problems before they become delays

Chair site meetings and progress reviews, then turn what's agreed into action

Monitor risk, health and safety compliance, and site documentation throughout each build

Report progress and cost to senior management and clients, in plain terms they can act on

Negotiate with contractors on variations, programme changes and resourcing

Here are the skills you'll need

Proven experience managing construction projects from inception to completion

Working knowledge of UK building regulations, CDM requirements and health and safety law

Confidence reading programmes, budgets and technical drawings

Strong communication skills. You'll be dealing with clients, contractors and your own team in the same day

A relevant qualification (HNC, degree or equivalent in construction management or similar) is preferred

The composure to make decisions when a site throws up something unexpected, because one always does

Key perks and benefits

Salary of £39,500 to £48,000, plus bonus scheme

Private medical insurance and solid pension contributions

Generous annual leave with flexible working built in around site demands

Office-based role in Newcastle, working alongside a team that's been here and knows the trade

Genuine progression within a structured but growing company

Why pursue a career in Property & Construction?

Construction rewards people who can actually deliver, not just talk about it. Newcastle has become one of the UK's busier regional markets for Property & Construction, with steady demand for project managers who know how to keep a build on track. Get a few solid projects under your belt and the ceiling on where this career goes is genuinely high.

This Project Manager (Construction) opportunity is brought to you by The Opportunity Hub UK.
