About this role
Not another dog-walking vacancy
this advert is for qualified, working dog groomers in Birmingham who would like to be self-employed on a commission basis. There is no wage. WoofWalk takes a percentage of bookings and nothing else, and it does not employ you.
We are a UK booking app for dog owners, and grooming is one of the services listed. Owners looking for a groomer see yours, book through the app and pay there, and the money is paid out to your bank. We have two places, for groomers covering areas such as Moseley, Harborne and Sutton Coldfield. Bookings are not guaranteed.
You can work from a salon at home, from a mobile van, or at the owner's home. You set your prices by dog size, and you decide how long each groom takes. Many start by inviting existing clients.
The search does not yet narrow down by area, which means a request can arrive from Solihull or Erdington when you only cover the south of the city. Check the address and decline it. You can also decline dogs you are not equipped for, and tell the owner before you start if you find a health problem. Mobile groomers get a day-route planner and an HMRC-rate mileage log.
There is nothing to pay to join. After 14 days with no commission you pay 10% of each booking, and 5% for life once you manage 20 bookings in a month. Your own tax, National Insurance and insurance. Over 18. Apply on Find a Job saying whether you use a home salon, a van or owners' homes and which parts of Birmingham you cover. We will send the set-up guide.
