About this role
We have more people from Birmingham signing up to WoofWalk than from any city outside London, and we want five more walkers to go with them.
WoofWalk is a UK app where owners find and book a local walker.
You are self-employed
we do not employ you, there is no hourly pay and no guaranteed bookings. You list what you offer, you set your price for a walk or a home visit, you say when you are free, and owners book you through the app. You keep the money minus a commission, paid out to your bank account.
How Birmingham stands tonight
102 people have applied through Indeed since 3 October, 40 have made an account, and 24 have set up a walking business in B postcodes, with a few more in Dudley, Walsall and Stourbridge. Seventeen of them have priced their walks, mostly starting between £8 and £15. Nobody in Birmingham has had a booking yet, so the first walkers to meet owners will set the tone.
Public listings in the city put a half-hour solo walk at roughly £10 to £15. Those are sitter-site figures, not ours. Sutton Park, Cannon Hill and Woodgate Valley are where most walks happen; the council limits anyone to four dogs at a time on open land, and we expect you to respect that.
Money
no joining fee, no subscription. 0% commission for your first 14 days, then 15%, falling to 10% for good once five clients have joined through you. You are responsible for your own tax, National Insurance and insurance.
Over 18s. Reply through Find a Job with your postcode area and we will send the set-up steps.
