About this role
Our walking advert is for dog walkers; this one is for groomers, which is a different job entirely. We want two experienced dog groomers in Nottingham to take bookings through WoofWalk. You would be self-employed and paid commission-only, meaning there is no wage and no promise of work.
WoofWalk is a UK booking app for dog owners, not an employer. Grooming has its own listing, and owners book a groomer and pay in the app. The money is paid out to your bank. You pick your days and your prices for each dog size.
Choose how to work
a salon at your home in West Bridgford or Beeston, a van that reaches Mapperley and Sherwood, or a visit to the owner's home. It is for people who already groom well, not trainees. Many start by moving existing customers onto the app.
At present the app cannot filter search results by area, so you could receive a request from Arnold when you only cover Wollaton. Look at the address and decline it. You can turn down a dog you are not equipped for, such as a matted coat, and must tell the owner before you start if you find a health problem. Van groomers get a day-route planner and an HMRC-rate mileage log.
You pay nothing to join. There is no commission for the first 14 days, then 10% of each booking, and 5% for life once you take 20 bookings in one month. A home salon can bring council rules on planning and business rates. Own tax, National Insurance and insurance. Over 18. Apply on Find a Job saying where you groom and which areas you cover, and we will send the set-up guide.
