About this role
We advertise for dog walkers in Nottingham; this advert is for pet sitters, which is a different job. Three self-employed sitters wanted to cover dogs in the owner's own home: daily visits for feeding, medication, toilet breaks and a walk, or overnight stays for a weekend or a week.
Most sitting requests come from owners away for a few days who do not want kennels. You keep the dog's routine, keep the house ticking over, and send a message with a photo each day. Overnight work means sleeping at the owner's address, so you need to be the sort of person an owner is comfortable giving keys to.
Public sitter listings in Nottingham put a home visit at about £12 and a night of home boarding at about £35. Those are other people's prices; in WoofWalk you set your own per visit and per night. If you would rather take dogs into your home, that is home boarding, which needs a licence from the city council first, and it is listed in the app separately.
WoofWalk is a UK booking app for dog owners, not an employer. No wage, no guaranteed bookings. Owners book and pay through the app and the money is paid out to you. Nothing to pay to join; 0% commission for the first 14 days, then 15% of each booking, dropping to 10% for life once five of your own clients have joined through you. Your own tax, National Insurance and insurance.
