About this role
Two places are open for experienced dog trainers in Leeds. You would be self-employed and paid on commission only, so there is no wage, and it is a different job from the dog walkers we also look for.
WoofWalk is a UK booking app for dog owners rather than an employer. Training is a live service in the app: owners pick a trainer, book a session and pay online, and your share is paid out to your bank account. Hours and prices are yours to choose. Bookings and income are not guaranteed.
The important limit is that only one-to-one sessions can be booked at present. Group classes, courses and online sessions cannot be booked through WoofWalk yet, so this is extra work rather than a replacement for a class-based business.
Once you have finished a session, write a training report with homework. The owner sees it in the app, which keeps the practice going between visits. You can show your qualifications on your profile and upload certificates for us to check. Explain which methods you use.
If a dog has a serious problem such as aggression, a qualified behaviourist or a vet is the right person. Be honest about what you can help with.
Search does not filter by area. A request could come from Pudsey, Otley or Chapel Allerton, so check the address and decline when it is out of reach.
Nothing to pay to join. After 14 days with no commission you pay 15% of each booking, and 10% for life once five of your own clients have joined through you. Your own tax, National Insurance and insurance. Over 18. Apply on Find a Job with your experience or qualifications and the areas you cover. We will send the set-up guide.
