About this role

Nine people from Leeds have applied to WoofWalk since 3 October and three have built a walking business so far, in LS postcodes and over in Halifax. Two have set prices, from £10 a walk. We would like five more walkers so that owners across the city have someone close by.

WoofWalk is a booking app for dog owners, and walkers on it are self-employed. You are not on our payroll; you run your own round. You choose what to charge for a walk, a drop-in or overnight sitting, you set the days and times you can do, and owners book you through the app. Payment goes through the app to your bank. No wage, no guaranteed bookings, no rota.

For a sense of the market: Leeds walkers on public sitter sites list half-hour walks between £8 and £25, typically around £13.50, and home visits around £12.75. We do not set your price; those are just the going rates.

Where the walks are

Roundhay Park, Temple Newsam, Golden Acre and Meanwood. Leeds' dogs order limits a person to four dogs at a time, or six with a licence, so plan group walks around that.

Costs

nothing to join. First 14 days commission-free, then 15% of each booking, and 10% for life after five clients have joined through you. Tax, National Insurance and insurance are your own responsibility.

Best suited to someone free between about ten and three on weekdays, which is when most owners book. Over 18 only.
