About this role

The very first person to apply to WoofWalk through Find a Job came from Derby, and the city has kept sending applicants since, nearly all for walking. We would now like three self-employed pet sitters here, which is a different job.

A sitter covers a dog at the owner's home while the owner is away: a visit or two a day to feed, give medication, let out and walk, or an overnight stay for a weekend or a week. You keep to the routine the owner leaves, and you send a daily message. It suits people with free evenings and weekends, or anyone who can block out a week at a time.

Public sitter listings in Derby show a home visit at about £10 and a night of home boarding from about £23 up to £50. Those are other sitters' prices. You set your own per visit and per night in the app. If you would rather host dogs at your home, that is home boarding; it needs a licence from Derby City Council first and the app lists it as a separate service.

WoofWalk is a UK booking app for dog owners, not an employer. No wage, no guaranteed work. Owners book and pay through the app and the money is paid out to your bank. Nothing to pay to join; 0% commission for your first 14 days, then 15% of each booking, dropping to 10% for life once five of your own clients have joined through you. You handle your own tax, National Insurance and insurance.

Over 18. Apply on Find a Job with your postcode area and whether overnights are possible.
