The Role

Are you passionate about protecting the highway network and making a real difference in your local community?

We are looking for a proactive and professional Highways Enforcement Officer to join our Highways Service and help ensure activities on the public highway are carried out safely, legally and with minimal disruption. In this varied role, you

will investigate highway issues, unauthorised works and obstructions, carry out site

inspections, engage with contractors, utility companies and members of the public, and take appropriate action to secure compliance with highways and street works legislation.

You will play a key role in maintaining network safety, protecting public assets and

supporting the Council's statutory duties as Highway Authority. We are looking for

someone with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, a keen eye for detail and the confidence to make informed decisions. Experience within highways, street works, enforcement, regulatory services or a similar field would be advantageous.

In return, we offer a competitive salary, generous annual leave entitlement, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, flexible working opportunities and ongoing training and development.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking Highways Service where your work will have a direct impact on the safety and efficiency of the local highway network.
