About the role

The East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) is building a new organisation with an ambitious vision for the East Midlands — making our region more prosperous, sustainable and fairer.

We are looking for an organised, proactive and digitally confident Legal Support Officer to join our Legal & Governance team.

This is a varied role providing essential administrative, operational and digital support to the Legal Practice Manager and General Counsel. You'll help ensure our Legal Services function operates efficiently, with effective systems, processes and workflows in place.

You'll also play a key role as a super user for Legal Services systems, helping colleagues use technology effectively and identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.

What you'll do

You'll

• Support the effective day-to-day delivery of Legal Services.

• Manage and improve administrative systems, processes and workflows.

• Act as a super user for the Legal Case Management system, supporting users, access, permissions, troubleshooting and system improvements.

• Coordinate the Legal Inbox and instructions process, including triage, allocation and workflow monitoring.

• Manage contracts, agreements, signing and sealing processes.

• Support recruitment, induction, training, starters and leavers.

• Maintain accurate records, spreadsheets and tracking systems to support performance and legal spend monitoring.

• Support financial and administrative processes across the service.

• Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and data quality.

• Handle sensitive information with discretion and ensure issues and risks are appropriately escalated.
