About this role
About the role
At London South East Colleges, we believe every learner deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their starting point or support needs. We are seeking an experienced and ambitious SEND specialist to join our Quality team and lead SEND quality assurance and improvement across the College.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines a passion for inclusion with a strong track record of quality improvement. You will play a key role in raising standards, supporting curriculum teams and ensuring that inclusive teaching, learning and assessment are embedded across all areas of provision.
Working closely with curriculum leaders, SEND teams and senior managers, you will help drive improvements that make a real difference to learner experiences, progress and outcomes.
About the Role
As SEND Quality Specialist, you will lead the College's approach to SEND quality assurance and improvement. You will line manage a team of Senior SEND Teaching & Learning Coaches, providing clear direction and ensuring support is targeted where it will have the greatest impact.
Using quality reviews, learner voice, lesson observations and performance data, you will identify strengths, address barriers and work with leaders to implement meaningful and sustainable improvements. You will champion high expectations, support inclusive classroom practice and provide assurance that learners with SEND receive the support they need to thrive.
You will also contribute to self-assessment, quality improvement planning and inspection readiness, helping to ensure the College continues to deliver high-quality and inclusive education.
About You
We are looking for an experienced education professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for learners with SEND.
You will have
- A degree or equivalent professional qualification.
- A recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience of leading teams and driving quality improvement within education.
- Strong knowledge of SEND, EHCPs, reasonable adjustments and inclusive teaching practice.
- Experience of coaching and supporting colleagues to improve teaching, learning and assessment.
- The ability to analyse data, identify priorities and translate findings into practical improvement actions.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to support and challenge colleagues at all levels.
- A commitment to inclusion, continuous improvement and learner success.
