About this role

Truro is Cornwall's only city, and Cornwall has a lot of households that come and go: holiday-let owners, second-home families and locals who travel in the winter. Their dogs need looking after at home. We would like three self-employed pet sitters, and one who can reach Falmouth or the north coast villages would be welcome. This is sitting, not walking.

You would look after a dog at the owner's property: visits through the day, nights in the house, or longer cover.

Keep to the routine

meals, any medication, a toilet break, a walk, company, and a daily update at the end.

The set-up is simple.

Nobody employs you

WoofWalk is the booking app that owners use, so no wage is paid and bookings are not guaranteed. You choose what a visit and a night cost. Owners pay in the app and you receive the money in your bank account. Tax, National Insurance and insurance are your own to deal with. We have no Truro sitting figure to quote.

A licence matters in one case. If you wanted dogs to stay at your own home, that is home boarding, a separate service in the app that needs a licence from the council first. Not so at the owner's property.

No cost to join; no commission for 14 days; then 15% of each booking. After five of your own clients have joined through you, it is 10% for life. Anyone you bring along yourself is charged 10% from day one.

Over 18. Please apply on Find a Job, saying which parts of Cornwall you can reach and whether overnights are fine.
