About this role
In the Highlands the distances are long and the kennels few, so an owner going away for a week often has a real problem. We would like three self-employed pet sitters in and around Inverness to solve it, looking after dogs in their owners' own homes. It is quite separate from dog walking.
You might visit twice a day, stay for a few nights or cover a whole holiday. Follow the owner's routine, feed the dog, give any medication, let it out, walk it, keep it company and send a daily message. We would like one sitter who can reach the Black Isle and the Loch Ness side.
Nobody at WoofWalk will tell you your hours or pay you a wage; the app only brings owners and sitters together, and it is not an employer. Work is not guaranteed. You choose what to charge for a visit and for a night. Payment comes through the app from the owner, then goes out to your bank. Tax, National Insurance and insurance are for you to look after. Our research has no Inverness sitting prices.
In Scotland, dogs staying at your own address count as home boarding, which needs a licence from the council first. The app lists it on its own. At the owner's house you need nothing of the sort.
The terms on commission
free to join, with 14 days commission-free, then 15% of each booking. When five of your own clients have joined through you, the rate is 10% for life. Your own clients pay 10% from their first booking.
Over 18. Apply on Find a Job, saying whether the Black Isle or the Loch Ness side is within reach and whether overnights suit.
