About this role
Join a startup Financial Services company as a Corporate Financial Analyst in Liverpool.
Financial services businesses run on numbers that need interpreting, not just recording. This growing Financial Services startup is building out its finance function from the ground up, and it needs a Corporate Financial Analyst who can make sense of the detail while keeping an eye on the bigger commercial picture. Liverpool's financial services scene has been quietly building momentum for years. This is a chance to get in early with a company that's still shaping how it works.
Here's what you'll be doing
Building and maintaining financial models that support pricing, forecasting and investment decisions
Preparing monthly management accounts and variance analysis for the leadership team
Tracking cash flow and working capital across a fast-moving startup balance sheet
Supporting budgeting cycles and challenging assumptions where the numbers don't add up
Producing investor-ready reporting packs and board materials
Partnering with commercial and operations teams to translate financial data into decisions they can act on
Here are the skills you'll need
2-4 years' experience in a financial analysis, corporate finance or FP&A role, ideally within Financial Services
Strong Excel and financial modelling skills. Experience with a BI tool (Power BI, Looker or similar) is a plus
A recognised accounting or finance qualification (or working towards one), such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA
Comfort working with ambiguity. Startups rarely hand you a finished process
Sharp attention to detail balanced with the ability to see what actually matters
Confident communication skills, since you'll be explaining financial detail to people who don't live in spreadsheets
Key perks and benefits
Salary of £33,000 to £48,500, depending on experience
Equity and stock options, so you share in what you help build
Hybrid working from the Liverpool office, with flexible hours around it
A genuine learning and development budget for courses, qualifications or conferences
Remote-friendly culture and a flat structure where your ideas reach decision-makers directly
Why pursue a career in Financial Services?
Financial Services rewards people who can think clearly under pressure, and that skill only gets more valuable as the sector grows. Liverpool has become a genuinely good base for it, with a cluster of firms expanding outside the traditional London bubble. A Corporate Financial Analyst role like this one gives you exposure most bigger firms take years to offer: direct access to leadership, real ownership of numbers that matter, and a clear path toward more senior finance positions.
This Corporate Financial Analyst opportunity is brought to you by The Opportunity Hub UK.
By applying, you acknowledge that The Opportunity Hub may retain your details and consider you for other suitable opportunities. You may opt out at any time.
