About this role
Based at our Headington Campus (with hybrid working options), the Student Funding Administrator reports directly to the Funding Team Leader. We are currently recruiting for both permanent and fixed-term (1-year maternity cover) positions.
Working closely with the Student Loans Company (SLC) and internal Registry teams, you will serve as a key point of contact for students and staff regarding tuition fee data, SLC funding, and the OBU Bursary scheme. Your duties will include ensuring data integrity across our systems (Banner and SIS), investigating and resolving discrepancies to facilitate timely payments, and managing student fee categories and waivers. You will also play a key role in supporting our students during enrollment periods and Open Days, providing a high standard of customer care across all communications.
The Student Finance team sits within the Finance and Legal Services (FLS) Directorate, which is central to maintaining the University’s financial integrity, operational stability, and statutory compliance. Our department is responsible for the accurate charging, collection, and allocation of tuition fees, as well as the administration of the OBU Bursary scheme.
We are committed to delivering a high-quality, student-focused service. Our work involves complex data management, including maintaining data integrity between the University’s Student Record System (Banner) and the Student Loans Company (SLC) database.
What will I be doing?
- The role involves working as part of a team to administer all aspects of financial enrolment of students with UK tuition fee and maintenance loans
- Completing Student Loans Company (SLC) enrolment confirmations on the SLC database to ensure that enrolled students with completed applications receive maintenance loans in a timely fashion
- Ensuring accurate attendance confirmation data is compiled for the SLC to allow tuition fee income to be disbursed to the University
- Responding to queries from applicants and students by email and telephone and updating student records with notes
- Offering advice on financial implications of adjustments to study patterns
- Responsible for investigating differences between SLC and OBU tuition fee data and resolving queries and differences to ensure correct payments.
