We are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive SEND school in Denton, who are looking to appoint a compassionate and dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) to access learning, develop communication skills and achieve their individual goals. You'll be joining a specialist setting where personalised support, patience and understanding are at the heart of everything they do.

The Role

As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will

Provide 1

1 and small-group support to pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

• Support pupils with complex physical, medical, sensory, communication and learning needs.
• Assist with personal care, including toileting, feeding and hygiene, where required.
• Help deliver personalised learning activities that promote engagement, communication, independence and sensory development.
• Support pupils with mobility and physical needs, following individual care plans and moving and handling procedures.
• Create a safe, calm and nurturing environment where every pupil feels valued and supported.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other support staff to meet each pupil's individual needs.

We're Looking For

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with PMLD, complex needs or significant SEND.
• An understanding of the physical, sensory, communication and learning needs of pupils with complex disabilities.
• A patient, caring and resilient approach, with the ability to adapt to individual needs.
• Confidence supporting personal care and following individual care plans, where required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for helping pupils with additional needs develop their skills, confidence and independence.
