About this role

We have two places for self-employed dog groomers in Liverpool. It is commission-based work with no wage from us, and it is not the dog-walking role we advertise elsewhere.

WoofWalk is a booking app for dog owners across the UK; we do not employ groomers. Owners search the app for grooming, choose someone, book and pay there, and your money is paid out to your bank. We cannot promise any bookings or any income. You choose your own hours and your own prices, set by dog size, and you allow whatever time a groom needs.

You can groom in a home salon, from a mobile van or at the owner's house. This is for experienced groomers, not a training course. Many begin by moving existing customers onto the app.

The search does not narrow by area yet, so a request might come from Formby when you are based in Aigburth. Read the address and say no to anything you cannot reach. You can also refuse a groom you are not equipped for, and you should tell the owner before starting if you see a skin problem. If you travel to clients in Childwall, Woolton or Crosby, the day-route planner orders the appointments and the mileage log counts business miles at HMRC rates, with a spreadsheet export for your return.

Nothing to pay to join. No commission for 14 days, then 10% per booking, and 5% for life once you take 20 bookings in one month. Grooming at home can bring council rules on planning and business rates. Own tax, National Insurance and insurance. Over 18.
