About this role

This advert is for dog trainers in and around Newcastle upon Tyne, and it is not the dog-walking job. The work is commission-based self-employment. There is no wage, and WoofWalk, a UK booking app for dog owners, is not your employer. We have two places.

Training is listed as a service of its own. Owners choose a trainer, book a session and pay through the app, and the money is paid out to your bank. You set your prices and decide your hours. No bookings or income are guaranteed.

The limit to understand is that only one-to-one sessions can be booked. Group classes, courses and online sessions cannot be booked through WoofWalk yet. You might meet an owner at home in Gosforth, on the Town Moor near Jesmond, or on the coast at Tynemouth.

Afterwards you can write a training report with homework, and the owner sees it in the app. Qualifications can be listed on your profile, with certificates uploaded for WoofWalk to check. Tell owners which methods you use.

Some problems need more than a trainer. Serious aggression calls for a qualified behaviourist or a vet, so say what you can help with and refer on the rest.

The app does not filter search by area, so you may receive a request from Whitley Bay or Gateshead when you work further west. Check the address and decline it if it is out of reach.

Nothing to pay to join. No commission for 14 days, then 15% per booking, falling to 10% for life once five of your own clients have joined through you. Your own tax, National Insurance and insurance. Over 18. Apply on Find a Job with your experience or qualifications and the areas you cover, and we will send the set-up guide.
