HGV Class 2 Drivers Ilkeston

Recently passed your Class 2 test or already have experience delivering goods commercially? We’re looking for dependable HGV Class 2 Drivers to join an established operation in Ilkeston, offering regular weekday work, daytime shifts and the opportunity to gain valuable driving experience.

This role is ideal for drivers who enjoy working independently, managing their own routes and providing a professional service to customers.

You’ll be responsible for carrying out deliveries and collections across your allocated routes, ensuring goods reach their destinations safely and within the required timeframes. You’ll need to organise your working day effectively, follow delivery schedules and maintain high standards of road safety.

As the role involves direct customer contact, you’ll be expected to communicate clearly and provide a friendly, professional service at each stop. Your responsibilities will also include completing vehicle checks, ensuring loads are secure and managing your daily workload efficiently.

You must hold a valid UK HGV Class 2 licence with Category C entitlement, a valid Driver CPC and a Digital Tachograph Card. Newly qualified drivers are welcome to apply, and previous Class 2 driving experience would be an advantage but is not essential.

You’ll need a good understanding of UK roads and driving regulations, a reliable attitude and strong communication skills. The ability to work independently, manage your route and deal professionally with customers is also important.

This is an ongoing temporary position offering regular weekday work and consistent hours, with continued assignments available for reliable drivers.

The position operates Monday to Friday, with early morning starts and regular daytime shifts. Additional hours may occasionally be required depending on the workload.

The role pays £16.33 per hour PAYE, with regular Monday-to-Friday shifts and consistent daytime work. You’ll also have the opportunity to accrue up to 28 days of annual leave pro rata.
