About this role
Serving customers on all aspects of a very busy Post Office counter, so attention to detail and mathematical accuracy is required.
Previous experience in Post Office/bank cashiering work is preferred, as most of your time will be spent on the Post Office counter. The Post Office will carry out a DBS check. Training will be given, as it takes 3 - 6 months to learn all aspects of Post Office work, as it is an in-depth role with a lot of technical background to learn, as well as dealing with a busy queue of customers.
The role also includes serving customers in the shop, sorting and putting out donations, keeping the shop neat and tidy, using the till, cashing up, key holder duties ie. opening up/locking up etc.
Hours are every Friday 9 - 5pm (7.5 hrs with 30min lunch break) and most Saturdays 9 - 5pm (7.5 hours with 30min lunch break), also Wednesday mornings 9 - 1pm and some Thursdays 9 - 5pm.
Punctuality and reliability are essential, as well as excellent customer service skills.
Working on a small team, you will be required to cover for absent staff on other days as well, when necessary.
