Assistant Chef

Chilli & Crown is a newly refurbished cocktail bar in Colchester, opening in mid-November 2026. We’re looking for an Assistant Chef to join our kitchen team from day one. You’ll work alongside the Head Chef to prepare and serve a quality food menu, help run a clean and efficient kitchen, and contribute ideas to our menu. This is a full-time, permanent role of 40 hours per week, and a great chance to be part of a brand-new venue from the start.

Prepare and cook dishes to a consistently high standard

Set up and organise prep stations and ingredients before service

Keep the kitchen clean, tidy and organised at all times

Supervise and support junior kitchen staff during busy service

Follow food safety rules for storage, handling and hygiene

Help with stock checks, ordering and reducing waste

Contribute ideas for bar snacks, sharing plates and specials
