About this role
The Best Connection is currently recruiting for
HGV Class 1 (CE) Drivers for an ongoing
trunking and shunting position with our prominent client based in
Team Valley, Gateshead.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced
HGV Class 1 Driver looking for regular, ongoing work with a
4 on / 2 off shift pattern, competitive pay rates and a genuine
temp-to-perm opportunity.
The Role
HGV Class 1 Trunking
Completing trunking work safely and efficiently, delivering and collecting goods between sites.
Shunting
Moving HGV vehicles and trailers around the client's secure site as required.
No multi-drop
This role focuses on trunking and shunting rather than multi-drop deliveries.
Vehicle safety
Carrying out the necessary vehicle checks and ensuring all loads are transported safely and securely.
Ongoing work
This is an ongoing temporary position with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.
Hours of Work

- Monday to Sunday working, including weekends and bank holidays as required

The Candidate Requirements
Licence
A valid UK
HGV Class 1 (Category CE) driving licence.
CPC
A valid Driver CPC qualification.
Digital Tachograph
A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
Experience
Previous
HGV Class 1, trunking or shunting experience is preferred.
Reliability
A strong attendance record and a flexible approach to working a 4 on / 2 off rota are essential.
Location
Applicants should be able to reliably commute to
Team Valley, Gateshead/Newcastle.
