Contract

Full-time, long-term temporary

We are recruiting an EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Early Years setting in Walthamstow.

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and understands that great EYFS support is about much more than supervising play. You'll help children develop their communication, early literacy and numeracy, confidence and independence, while creating positive learning experiences throughout the day.

The Role

  • Support children across the Early Years setting
  • Lead engaging activities through purposeful play
  • Support early phonics, literacy and numeracy development
  • Encourage communication, language and vocabulary
  • Help children develop social skills, confidence and independence
  • Support children during adult-led activities and continuous provision
  • Use observations to help identify progress and next steps
  • Provide additional support to children with emerging SEN where required
  • Help maintain a safe, stimulating and engaging learning environment

What We're Looking For

  • Previous EYFS, nursery or primary school experience is strongly preferred
  • Good understanding of the EYFS Framework
  • Knowledge of early childhood development
  • Confident supporting learning through play
  • Comfortable leading individual and small-group activities
  • Patient, enthusiastic and able to build positive relationships with young children
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification would be advantageous
  • Available full-time for a long-term position
