Contract

Full-Time

Qualification

If Early Years is where you want to build your teaching career, this is an opportunity to develop the experience, knowledge and confidence that can take you further.

A highly regarded primary school in Walthamstow is looking for an experienced EYFS Teacher to join its team, working with children aged 3-5 at one of the most important stages of their education.

You'll have the opportunity to strengthen your expertise across the full EYFS framework while working within a supportive school that values professional development and gives its teachers the resources and guidance they need to progress.

This isn't simply about delivering lessons.

You'll take ownership of children's learning and development across

  • Communication and language
  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Physical development
  • Literacy and mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts and design

You'll plan engaging learning experiences, assess individual progress and adapt your teaching to ensure children with different starting points and needs can participate and develop.

You'll also work closely with parents, carers and other professionals, giving you broader experience of the collaboration that sits behind effective Early Years provision.

Strong EYFS experience can open up a number of routes as your teaching career develops.

Whether your longer-term ambition is to become an EYFS Lead, Phase Leader, curriculum specialist or move into wider school leadership, developing a strong understanding of Early Years provision gives you an excellent professional foundation.

The school actively supports ongoing professional development, giving you the opportunity to continue building your knowledge of current EYFS practice and educational research.

You'll also contribute to the wider life of the school through staff meetings, events and activities - giving you experience beyond your own classroom.

We're looking for someone who already has a good grounding in Early Years and is ready to build on it.

You'll need

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Strong experience working within an EYFS setting
  • A thorough understanding of the EYFS framework
  • The ability to plan engaging, child-centred learning
  • Strong assessment and progress-monitoring skills
  • Excellent communication with children, families and colleagues
  • Good organisation and time management
  • A flexible and collaborative approach
  • A genuine commitment to Early Years education

Most importantly, you'll understand that excellent EYFS teaching isn't simply preparation for what comes next. These years matter in their own right, and you'll want to create an environment where children develop confidence, curiosity and a genuine enthusiasm for learning.

If you've already developed strong EYFS experience and are looking for a role that allows you to deepen your expertise while continuing to progress professionally, this could be an excellent next step.

Salary

£37,860 - £50,474 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
