About this role
What you'll be doing
The House of Commons is seeking passionate and knowledgeable individuals to join its Accessibility Advisory Group as Accessibility Advisors. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape how the UK Parliament improves accessibility and disability inclusion, ensuring that the experiences and perspectives of disabled people inform organisational policies, practices and decision-making.
As an Accessibility Advisor, you will provide independent expert guidance, drawing on your professional knowledge and lived experience of disability to challenge assumptions, identify barriers and recommend meaningful improvements. You will advise on physical, digital, communication and cultural accessibility, as well as review relevant policies, strategies and projects.
You will attend four two-hour advisory meetings each year, with up to two hours of preparation per meeting. There may also be opportunities to participate in optional subgroups and consultation sessions. Through your contribution, you will help the House of Commons build a more inclusive and accessible environment for everyone.
