What skills and experience we're looking for

Reporting to the Curriculum Director, the Programme Manager in Construction combines classroom teaching and management responsibility. The role involves working 37 hours per week, with a timetable consisting of 18 contact teaching hours per week alongside 7 hours of administrative remission. It offers a salary on the Programme Managers pay scale from PM1 £41,256.00 up to PM7 £49,315.00 depending on Qualifications and Experience.

Operational duties include maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment, managing team performance through staff reviews, delivering key performance indicators, and driving student retention and achievement. The role also involves developing the curriculum offer to align with local building sector needs while utilising the college's dedicated trade workshops.

In addition to a level 3 qualification in plumbing, we are looking for a minimum Level 4 teaching qualification, and Level 2 qualifications in English and mathematics, a strong background in Further Education curriculum planning, and proficient digital and administrative skills, with assessor or verifier awards and leadership experience being advantageous.

The Programme Manager will actively foster relationships with employers, parents, and external stakeholders to secure valuable industry placements and expand commercial operations within the sector. Crucially, the postholder must demonstrate effective team leadership, a collaborative approach to continuous quality improvement, and a steadfast commitment to student safeguarding and inclusive learning.
