Are you passionate about changing lives through learning and building strong relationships with employers and partners? We are looking for an Employer Engagement and Skills Development Officer to play a key role in helping adults access training, develop workplace skills and progress into employment through a range of innovative adult learning programmes.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team committed to supporting adults (19+) to gain skills, secure employment and achieve their ambitions. If you are passionate about employer engagement, partnership working with DWP and Jobcentre Plus, and creating opportunities for learners across our communities to secure meaningful employment, we would love to hear from you.
As our Employer Engagement and Skills Development Officer, you will
- Build and maintain productive relationships with employers, DWP advisers, Jobcentre Plus teams, recruitment agencies and other stakeholders to identify workforce and recruitment needs.
- Promote and support the delivery of adult skills programmes, including Skills Bootcamps, helping adults gain the skills and confidence needed to move into employment or progress in work.
- Work with employers to co-design training programmes aligned to local and regional labour market priorities and skills shortages.
- Support learners throughout their journey, from recruitment and engagement through to achievement, progression and positive employment outcomes.
What we can offer you in this role
- The opportunity to make a real difference by helping adults access training, develop employability skills and secure sustainable employment.
- A collaborative and supportive team environment with strong partnerships across employers, DWP and regional stakeholders.
- A diverse student body, positive atmosphere, ample support services, innovative teaching methods, community engagement and a celebration of individual differences.
- An environment that fosters personal growth and collaboration, to change lives through learning.
- We actively encourage applications from those seeking part-time roles, job shares, or other flexible working arrangements.
What you will bring to the role
- Experience of working with employers and external stakeholders to develop partnerships and opportunities.
- Experience of sales, recruitment, marketing or employer engagement within a target-driven environment.
- Proven communication, influencing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
- Organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities and experience using tracking, monitoring and reporting systems.
- A commitment to supporting adult learners and a passion for improving employment and progression outcomes through education and skills development.
Our Staff Benefits - see attached job pack for further information.
- Local Government Pension Scheme, with the Group contributing 15% of your actual pensionable pay.
- 25 days annual leave, increasing to 28 days in line with continuous service, plus bank holidays and college closure days over the Christmas period which are not deducted from annual leave entitlement.
- Access to a range of discount schemes including shopping, restaurants, gym, travel, cinema and onsite facilities.
- Employee Assistance Programme.
- Enhanced family friendly policies including enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave.
- Continuous professional development opportunities.
