  • Prioritising cases based on outstanding balances, circumstances and recovery prospects
  • Communicating professionally with tenants experiencing financial difficulties while maintaining consistent recovery activity
  • Liaising with relevant external support services where appropriate
  • Assisting with legal escalations, including preparing case histories, correspondence, account information and supporting evidence
  • Supporting court, possession and rent-arrears proceedings, including monitoring deadlines, hearings and required actions
  • Maintaining accurate case notes, correspondence, agreements and follow-up dates within company systems
  • Contributing to daily arrears reports and other credit-control and debt-recovery reporting
  • Identifying operational issues and suggesting practical improvements

Requirements

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and reliable follow-through
  • Confident and professional telephone manner, including discussing money and outstanding debts
  • Clear written English and the ability to produce accurate case notes and professional correspondence
  • Ability to manage a caseload, competing priorities and time-sensitive tasks
  • Good judgement when deciding whether to continue engagement or escalate a case
  • Ability to balance empathy for individual circumstances with firm and consistent recovery activity
  • Comfortable using case-management systems, spreadsheets and management reports
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team

Desirable

  • Previous experience in credit control, arrears management, debt recovery or property management
  • Experience in residential lettings or the private rented sector
  • Exposure to possession proceedings, court documentation or formal debt-recovery processes
  • Familiarity with tenancy agreements, rent accounts and repayment arrangements
  • Experience supporting customers experiencing financial difficulties or vulnerability
