Locum consultant orthopeadic interest in hand and wrist

To deliver consultant-level elective care within the Hand & Wrist service, supporting elective recovery and the reduction of waiting list pressures. To work collaboratively with the Hand & Wrist multidisciplinary team to support elective recovery, service delivery and ongoing service development. To take responsibility for the management of inpatients and outpatients under the post holders care, ensuring safe, effective and timely clinical management. To contribute to consultant-led outpatient clinics, elective theatre activity, day-case services and multidisciplinary clinical decision-making. To provide appropriate support to Hand & Wrist trauma services, including fracture clinics and trauma operating activity, according to service requirements. To provide supervision, training and teaching to junior medical staff, allied health professionals and medical students. To work collaboratively with Trauma & Orthopaedic colleagues and other relevant specialties as required. There is no formal consultant on-call commitment associated with this post. To participate fully in clinical governance activities, including clinical audit, quality improvement, appraisal, mandatory training and relevant service improvement initiatives.
