Join our forward-thinking Cardiology Department at Frimley Park Hospital, offering a broad range of non-invasive and invasive cardiac investigations and specialist services, including ambulatory monitoring, exercise tolerance testing (ETT), complex PCI and a 24/7 PPCI on-call service, electrophysiology and radiofrequency ablation, CIED implantation and follow-up, remote monitoring, and echocardiography, including TOE, stress echo, bubble and contrast studies, and a specialist valve clinic.
You will undertake investigations appropriate to your level of training and competence, while developing your clinical skills and professional expertise.
With a strong commitment to physiologist-led services and continuous professional development (CPD), this role offers an excellent opportunity for newly qualified physiologists with core knowledge of invasive cardiology and cardiac rhythm management, as well as experienced physiologists seeking career progression, greater responsibilities and further BHRS accreditation.
Join our team and contribute to delivering high-quality, patient-centred cardiac care while advancing your career in a supportive and progressive environment.
Complete relevant competencies to undertake a range of non-invasive and invasive cardiac investigations autonomously, in line with training and competency.
Independently perform 12-lead ECGs, fit ambulatory monitors, analyse and interpret results, and produce accurate, factual reports.
Lead exercise tolerance testing (ETT), ensuring patient safety and accurate documentation throughout.
Work towards independent practice within the cardiac catheterisation laboratory, including haemodynamic monitoring and physiologist support during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Develop skills in advanced interventional techniques, including intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), pressure wire studies, optical coherence tomography (OCT) and intravascular lithotripsy (Shockwave).
Participate effectively in emergencies and cardiac arrests within the scope of the role, demonstrating knowledge of emergency equipment, including external defibrillators, external pacing, temporary pacing equipment and intra-aortic balloon pumps.
Work towards joining the primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI) on-call rota, developing the skills and competencies required to support the 24/7 service.
Maintain professional competence through continuous professional development, ongoing competency assessments and adherence to departmental protocols, clinical guidelines and patient safety standards.
