About this role
Employer Account Manager - IPS
Lead employer relationships. Create lasting employment opportunities.
You'll lead employer engagement across our Essex Individual Placement and Support (IPS) service, managing Employer Account Executives and creating opportunities that lead to sustainable paid employment.
This is hands-on management combining business development, coaching and performance accountability. You'll also manage a small participant caseload, deliver employer training and develop our employer Resource Hub for Essex.
Your focus is not simply filling vacancies. It's building employer relationships around the work people actually want to do.
Before you apply
the essentials
To be considered, your CV and application must clearly demonstrate
- Experience developing employer or business relationships within recruitment, employability, business development or a related field.
- Experience managing, coaching or developing colleagues against clear performance expectations, including addressing areas for improvement.
- Evidence of achieving measurable employer, employment or commercial outcomes and using performance information to improve results.
- Experience understanding customer or participant needs and translating them into suitable recruitment or employment opportunities.
- Ability to influence employers, deliver presentations or training and manage multiple relationships effectively.
- Evidence of commitment, reliability and consistently delivering high standards of work.
- Evidence of delivering outcomes, targets, tasks, projects or agreed objectives.
- Confident working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, CRM or similar systems, with the ability to learn new technology.
- Ability to present your recent employment history clearly, including explaining gaps or short-term roles during the previous five years.
Useful, but not essential
- Previous experience within IPS or supported employment.
- Knowledge of disability, neurodiversity, inclusive recruitment and workplace adjustments.
- Experience developing employer resources or online guidance.
The real job
You'll lead and coach three Employer Account Executives, setting expectations, reviewing performance and helping them develop productive employer relationships.
You'll personally engage employers, identify advertised and unadvertised opportunities and negotiate suitable roles around participants' preferences and strengths.
You'll retain a small IPS caseload, work alongside Employment Specialists and help participants move into sustainable employment.
You'll also deliver employer workshops, develop practical Resource Hub content and promote inclusive recruitment and workplace practices.
Accurate records, safeguarding, contract performance and effective use of employer data are fundamental.
What success looks like
Your team is creating relevant employment opportunities through strong, repeat employer relationships.
Employer engagement contributes to sustainable job outcomes, performance risks are addressed and your team receives effective coaching.
Employers actively use the training and resources you develop.
The working reality
You'll balance people management, proactive employer development, performance targets and direct participant support.
Not every employer approach succeeds. You'll need commercial judgement, persistence and the confidence to challenge ineffective approaches.
Travel across Essex is required for employer and partnership meetings.
What you get
- 5 days' annual leave, increasing with service.
- Vitality health and wellbeing support, including GP services, mental health support and physiotherapy.
- 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme, including up to six counselling sessions a year and legal, financial and debt guidance.
- Workplace pension, with salary sacrifice available subject to eligibility and scheme rules.
Share buy scheme.
- Up to £360 a year through IncentFit for eligible activities.
- Wellbeing, retail, fitness, travel and mobile discounts, including 20% off eligible EE mobile plans.
