One pupil might grasp a new concept immediately.

Another may need extra explanation, a different approach or simply more time to build confidence.

We're recruiting a dedicated Primary Classroom Teacher in Torquay who can deliver inclusive, engaging lessons while supporting pupils to make meaningful progress.

As a Primary Teacher, you'll create an environment where pupils feel supported, challenged and motivated.

Your responsibilities will include

• Delivering well-planned lessons across the primary curriculum.
• Adapting teaching methods to suit different learning abilities.
• Identifying gaps in understanding and providing additional support.
• Supporting pupils with SEND and individual learning requirements.
• Using assessment to monitor progress and inform future planning.
• Encouraging active participation and independent thinking.
• Maintaining positive classroom behaviour and routines.
• Working closely with Teaching Assistants and other professionals.
• Building strong relationships with pupils and parents.
• Promoting an inclusive and supportive classroom culture.

You'll need

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised equivalent.
• Experience working with primary-aged pupils.
• Good knowledge of the National Curriculum.
• Confidence planning and delivering differentiated lessons.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• A patient, encouraging and adaptable approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A commitment to supporting children's learning and wellbeing.

An Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one, and satisfactory references will be required.
