Cleaning and Facilities Assistant

Company Overview

The company is an industry leader in a specialist field with extensive experience and a well-established reputation, producing a range of bespoke and standard RF antenna products ranging from large volume products for global companies to small volume custom work for highly specific applications. The company manufactures products for a diverse range of industries and market sectors including public safety, defence, transportation, utilities, manufacturing, construction and consumer goods.

The Cleaner will be part of a small friendly team and will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in various environments, ensuring that all areas are tidy, safe and welcoming.

The work environment to clean includes, a main office, the production and stores areas and an additional office building located 20 minutes’ walk down the road.

Job Objective

• Vacuuming, scrubbing and/or mopping floor surfaces and stairs (a scrubber dryer machine is available for big surfaces)

• Cleaning the bathrooms and toilets, including mirrors and sinks

• Cleaning the canteen areas, ensuring the dishes are cleaned and put away, microwaves and fridges are clean

• Dusting and cleaning equipment and flat surfaces (desk, meeting rooms, workstations etc.)

• Replenish consumable items e.g. soap, toilet rolls, paper towels

• Emptying waste bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to designated collection points (including cigarette bins)

• Cleaning interior windows

• Managing the stock level of cleaning supplies

• Ensuring the entrance and exit of the buildings are clean

• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel

• Watering the plants

Additional Facilities, Health and Safety Duties

• Carry out routine Legionella monitoring checks as required

• Carry out routine checks of first aid kits and report any items requiring replenishment

• Assist with the organisation and storage of PPE

• Issue breakfast items as required

• Carry out routine fire exit and emergency escape route checks

• Assist with scheduled fire alarm testing

• Assist with workplace noise monitoring surveys as required

• Assist with basic non-specialist facilities maintenance tasks where appropriate

• Assist with the installation or replacement of basic workplace items such as signage, notices and other facilities equipment where appropriate

• Assist with setting up areas for maintenance, inspections and other workplace activities

• Assist with facilities arrangements for contractors and maintenance activities as required

• Assist with maintaining access to emergency exits and safety equipment where required

• Complete relevant facilities and safety checklists where required

• Undertake other reasonable facilities and health and safety support duties appropriate to the role

Experience

• Previous experience as a Cleaner is preferred
