About this role
Someone in Skipton asked a local group for a dog walker in the last fortnight, and WoofWalk, the UK app where owners book and pay local walkers, had nobody within twenty-five kilometres. We are therefore looking for up to three self-employed walkers around the town: Skipton itself, Embsay, Carleton, Gargrave and Cross Hills, with Skipton Woods, Aireville Park, the Leeds and Liverpool canal towpath and Embsay Crag on the doorstep.
To be clear, this is self-employment with no wage and no guaranteed bookings. You run your own small round through the app and you fix the prices, the days and the area. Bookings and payments both happen in the app, and your earnings are transferred to your bank.
On rates
roughly 200 WoofWalk listings in October 2026 had an hour's solo walk between £12 and £28, with £18 in the middle. Those are other walkers' figures, offered as context.
What it costs you
nothing to join, no commission for 14 days, then 15% of each booking, dropping to 10% once five clients of your own have joined. A client you bring yourself pays 10% from the first booking. Tax, National Insurance and insurance stay with you.
Let us have your patch, your days and your price and we will draft a profile for you to approve. Walking dogs in Craven already? Bring your clients with you and run bookings, payments and GPS-tracked walks in one app.
You need to be over 18, at home in Dales weather, and willing to meet each owner and dog first. Apply through Find a Job and say whether Skipton, Embsay or the villages are your ground.
