About this role
A dog owner in Saffron Walden asked around for a walker during the last two weeks and WoofWalk, a UK app where owners book and pay walkers near them, had nobody within twenty-five kilometres. We would like up to three self-employed walkers covering the town, Thaxted, Newport and Stansted Mountfitchet, with Audley End, the Common, Bridge End Garden and the Harcamlow Way for walking.
No wage is paid and there are no guaranteed bookings: this is self-employed work. The app gives you a small walking business of your own, with prices, days and patch all set by you. Owners book and pay in the app and the fee is transferred to your bank.
For context, about 200 WoofWalk listings in October 2026 priced an hour's solo walk at £12 to £28, with £18 the most common. Other walkers chose those prices; you choose yours.
The fees
free to join, no commission in the first 14 days, then 15% of each booking, which falls to 10% for good once five of your own clients have joined. Clients you bring yourself pay the lower 10% from their first booking. Everything to do with tax, National Insurance and insurance is handled by you.
Tell us your area, your days and your price and we will write a draft profile for you to approve. If you walk dogs around Uttlesford already, bring your clients and keep bookings, payments and GPS-tracked walks in one app.
Over 18, fine with Essex clay in winter, and willing to meet each owner and dog first. Apply through Find a Job and mention which villages you can reach.
