Registered Sick Childrens Nurse Band 5

You will be responsible for providing specialist paediatric nursing care within a busy outpatient setting. Working closely with medical, nursing and allied health professionals, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality care that reflects current evidence-based practice and professional standards. You will prepare clinical environments, support clinics to run efficiently and contribute to the management of patient pathways. The role involves monitoring and recording clinical observations, undertaking specialist nursing interventions and responding appropriately to changing patient needs. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Children's Unit and wider organisation, supporting multidisciplinary care and maintaining effective communication with patients, families and professionals. You will also contribute to mentoring, teaching and assessing students and colleagues, helping to foster a positive learning environment. You will be expected to work within NMC standards, Trust policies and safeguarding requirements, whilst actively participating in clinical governance, service development and audit activities. The role requires strong organisational and decision-making skills, the ability to prioritise workload effectively and a commitment to providing outstanding care.
