Kirtani (Religious Worker)

•Provide supporting vocal and/or instrumental accompaniment during scheduled Gurbani Kirtan programmes, under the direction of the designated Head Granthi.

• Rehearse Gurbani compositions and coordinate musical contributions with other Jatha members and/or congregation.
• Prepare, tune and maintain harmoniums, tablas and other instruments used for Kirtan.
• Prepare musical resources and programme arrangements for daily activities, Gurpurabs and other Sikh commemorations and festivals.
• Assist with the respectful preparation and upkeep of spaces and equipment used for religious programmes.
• Support volunteers with practical arrangements for the Sangat attending Kirtan programmes for the smooth running of the Gurdwara.

Observe the Sikh Maryada 24x7. This position carries no preaching, pastoral care, religious counselling, interpretation of doctrine for the congregation, independent leadership of worship, or responsibility for conducting religious rites or ceremonies. These are reserved for the Head Granthi only.
