About this role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Business Analysis Manager to join our Transformation and Operations team in Bristol. This role is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis, with a requirement to attend the Bristol office 2 days a week.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering strategic, operational and technology-enabled change across the firm. You'll lead a team of Business Analysts, drive best practice, and work with senior stakeholders to ensure change initiatives deliver meaningful business outcomes.

Your Role

You will be responsible for leading and developing our Business Analyst team while driving excellence across a diverse portfolio of change initiatives.

You will

  • Build trusted and credible relationships with internal and external stakeholders, enabling open communication, constructive challenge and effective collaboration throughout the delivery of change.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Business Analyst team, setting clear performance expectations, providing regular coaching and feedback, and creating a collaborative culture in which colleagues are supported to deliver consistently high-quality work.
  • Provide effective oversight and direction across the team’s portfolio of work, acting as the escalation point for complex risks, issues and dependencies, identifying practical solutions and escalating matters with clear recommendations where wider decisions are required.
  • Ensure the Business Analyst team works collaboratively with Project Managers, Change Managers and operational stakeholders to understand the underlying reasons for change, define robust requirements and agree practical solutions that address business needs and support successful adoption.
  • Work in partnership with IT development teams to ensure robust software development lifecycle practices, enabling successful project delivery.
  • Lead the business analysis activity on the most complex initiatives from inception through to post-implementation, ensuring requirements, user stories, process analysis, testing strategies and supporting documentation are clear, proportionate and enable the change to be successfully delivered and embedded.
  • Allocate Business Analyst resources effectively across initiatives, making informed recommendations based on business priorities, project requirements, individual capability, capacity and development opportunities, in collaboration with portfolio and delivery leaders.
  • Take accountability for the quality and consistency of business analysis across the full project lifecycle, ensuring activity complies with agreed governance, professional standards and the Firm’s values, while developing and embedding approaches that strengthen business analysis capability across the Firm.

Skills and Experience

  • Deep practical knowledge of business analysis across strategic, operational and technology-enabled change, supported by substantial experience in a senior business analysis or professional leadership role.
  • Strong capability across requirements elicitation, workshop facilitation, user-story development, process mapping, options analysis, UAT planning, testing and benefits definition.
  • Experience of leading and developing a professional team, including performance expectations, coaching, work allocation, quality assurance and capability planning.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading complex, cross-organisational initiatives and translating effectively between business and technical stakeholders.
  • Highly developed influencing, facilitation and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and handle ambiguity or competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and adapt style to different audiences.
  • Strong strategic thinking, commercial awareness and judgement, with the ability to connect detailed analysis to wider Firm priorities and outcomes.
  • Excellent workload, resource and priority management, with a consistent focus on quality, delivery and continuous improvement.
