- Help supervise construction contracts, including valuations, final measurements and accounts.
- Prepare technical reports and feasibility studies, and provide technical advice to Council colleagues.
- Work with AutoCAD and surveying technology, and support the maintenance, updating and calibration of technical equipment.
- Work with colleagues, contractors and external clients or designers to help deliver projects on time and within budget.
About you
You’ll bring a keen interest in engineering, enthusiasm for learning and a positive approach to contributing to the team.

you’ll be able to listen carefully, explain technical information clearly, and build constructive working relationships with colleagues, clients and contractors.
- Experience in a design office or technical environment, or relevant site experience.
- Experience of interpreting technical and topographical survey drawings.
- A BTEC Higher National Certificate in Civil Engineering or similar is essential for Grade 7 and desirable for Grade 6.
- GCSEs in Maths and English, or equivalent qualifications, knowledge and experience.
- A willingness to undertake training in surveying equipment, AutoCAD and 4x4 driving.
- The ability to contribute to projects being delivered on time and within budget, with effective negotiation skills.
- A flexible, adaptable approach, a strong team-working ethic and respect for others, including the ability to handle disagreements constructively.
