About this role

Bath has a good number of owners with second homes, busy weekends away and dogs they would rather not put into kennels. We are looking for three self-employed pet sitters to look after those dogs in their own homes. If you saw our dog-walking advert, note that this is a different job.

A day looks like this. You arrive, feed the dog, check its water, give any medication, let it out, take it for a walk and stay a while. Overnight bookings mean you sleep at the owner's address. After each visit you send a quick update.

Public listings in Bath show a home visit at about £13 and a night of home boarding at about £39, one of the higher figures in the country. Those prices belong to other sitters; WoofWalk sets none.

Taking dogs to stay in your own home is called home boarding. You need a council licence before starting, and the app gives it a separate listing. Sitting at the owner's address does not.

Now the business side. WoofWalk does not hire you; you run your own small business. There is no wage, and bookings are not guaranteed. You choose your rates per visit and per night, and payments are paid out to your bank. Tax, National Insurance and insurance sit with you.

Free to join. Your first 14 days carry no commission at all. After that it is 15% of each booking, and once five of your own clients have joined through you it becomes 10% for life. Anyone you bring in yourself pays 10% from day one.

Over 18. Apply on Find a Job and let us know which parts of Bath and the villages you can reach, and if overnights are fine.
