About this role
Maidstone is a commuter town with villages all around it, and many owners spend days away on business or take a week abroad. They want their dog to stay in its own home, with someone dependable looking after it. That someone is a pet sitter, and we would like three. This is a different role from the walking one we advertise.
A sitter may visit once or twice a day, or stay overnight at the owner's address. You follow the owner's routine, handle food, water, medication and toilet breaks, take the dog out, spend time with it and send a daily update.
Public sitter listings in the Maidstone area show a home visit at about £11 and a night of home boarding at about £30.
You would be self-employed, and WoofWalk is the booking app owners use, not an employer. We pay no wage, and we cannot promise any work. You name the price of a visit and of a night. Owners pay through the app and the money goes out to your bank; tax, National Insurance and insurance are yours to account for.
Home boarding, meaning dogs staying at your own place, needs a licence from the council before you start and is a separate service in the app. At the owner's address you do not need one.
There is nothing to pay up front. You pay no commission for 14 days, then 15% on each booking. After five clients of your own have joined through you, the rate falls to 10% for life; clients you bring yourself pay 10% from the first booking.
Must be over 18. Please apply on Find a Job with the villages and roads you can reach, and say whether overnights work for you.
