About this role
Canterbury empties and fills with the university terms, and the owners who live here all year take holidays like everyone else. We would like three self-employed pet sitters for the dogs left behind. This is the sitting job, which is quite different from walking: you are in the owner's home, following their routine, not out on a lead for an hour.
Think drop-in visits, overnights and holiday weeks: feeding, medication if needed, a walk, some company and a daily word to the owner. You might cover the city, or Whitstable and Herne Bay, or the villages to the south.
A note on licences. Taking dogs into your own home is home boarding, and it needs a licence from your local council before you start. The app has a separate listing for it. House sitting and visits at the owner's address need none.
We have no sitting price for Canterbury, so we will not suggest one. What you charge per visit and per night is for you to decide, and owners pay through the app, with the money paid out to your bank.
Do not expect a wage. WoofWalk is not an employer and does not promise any work, which means you are in business for yourself and keep your own tax, National Insurance and insurance in order.
On commission
signing up costs nothing, and for your first 14 days we take none. After that we take 15% of each booking. When five of your own clients have joined through you, the rate drops to 10% for life, and clients you bring yourself pay 10% from the very first booking.
Over 18 only. Apply on Find a Job, giving the Canterbury areas you can reach and whether you can stay overnight.
