About this role
A few walkers in Cheshire have already set up on WoofWalk. What Chester lacks, as far as we can tell, is someone to mind a dog at home while the owner is away, so this advert asks for three self-employed pet sitters. It is a separate job from the walking one: you go to the dog's house rather than taking it out.
Typical bookings are lunchtime visits for owners at work, stays of a few nights, or longer cover over a holiday. You follow the owner's routine, handle food, water and medication, give the dog a walk and company, and send a daily update. We would like cover for the city and Hoole, the Handbridge side and the north.
Dogs staying at your own home is home boarding: it needs a licence from the council before you take a booking, and it has its own listing in the app. Staying in the owner's house is outside the licence rule.
On the arrangement itself, you are in business for yourself. WoofWalk is not an employer, there is no wage, and there is no guaranteed work,. You set the price for a visit and for a night. Owners pay in the app, and WoofWalk sends the proceeds on to your bank. Tax, National Insurance and insurance you arrange for yourself. We have no Chester sitting figure to share.
Nothing to pay to join. For 14 days no commission; then 15% of each booking. Bring five of your own clients and the rate is 10% for life. Clients who come to you directly are charged 10% from the outset.
Over 18. Apply on Find a Job with the parts of Chester you can cover and whether overnight stays are possible.
