About this role
Three self-employed dog sitters wanted for
Gloucester
one for the centre and docks, one for Quedgeley and Tuffley and one for Hucclecote and Barnwood. You would look after a dog in the owner's own home while the owner is away. We advertise dog walking separately; this is not that.
Bookings come in several shapes. A midday visit for someone at work, two visits a day through a holiday, or nights in the house over a weekend. In each case you follow the owner's routine, handle food and any medication, take the dog out, spend time with it and send a daily update.
Now the arrangement. Nobody at WoofWalk will be your boss, because we only run the booking app. No wage, and no guaranteed work. Choose your price per visit and per night, and accept the bookings that suit you. The owner pays in the app; the payment is then paid out to your bank. Your tax, National Insurance and insurance are your job. No Gloucester sitting prices are in our research, so none are quoted.
If dogs would sleep at your own address, you are into home boarding. That needs a licence from the council first, and in the app it is a separate service. Sitting at the owner's house does not.
Joining costs nothing. No commission applies for the first 14 days; from day 15 WoofWalk takes 15% of each booking. Five clients of your own joining through you takes that down to 10% for life. Clients you find yourself pay 10% as soon as they book.
Over 18. Apply on Find a Job, naming the part of Gloucester that suits you and whether overnights are fine.
