About this role
Lancaster has a university, a hospital, a canal and a bay, and owners who would rather their dog stayed home when they go away. We want three self-employed pet sitters, and we would like one of them to cover Morecambe and Heysham.
This is the other job
not walking, but minding the dog at the owner's house.
Think visits, nights and holiday weeks. You follow the owner's routine, handle meals and medication, take the dog out, stay for company and send a note every day. Students around in the holidays and people working evenings are the obvious fit, but anyone reliable will do.
Nobody pays you a wage here, and there is no promise of work: we are a booking app, not an employer. Your own price per visit and per night is the one that applies. Owners book and pay through the app and you are paid out to your bank. Tax, National Insurance and insurance are for you to arrange. We have no Lancaster sitting prices in our research, so we quote none.
If you want dogs to stay at your own address, that is home boarding. A council licence is required in advance, and the app lists it as its own thing. Staying at the owner's house needs no licence.
Fees in short. Free to join; 14 days without commission; then 15% of each booking. Five clients of your own joining through you earns 10% for life. Your own clients pay 10% from the start. You are self-employed throughout.
Over 18 only. Apply on Find a Job with the parts of Lancaster and Morecambe you can reach, and whether overnights suit you.
