About this role
Southend is full of London commuters whose dogs are alone for long days, and plenty of them go away at weekends and in the school holidays. We want three self-employed pet sitters for Leigh-on-Sea, Westcliff, the town centre, Thorpe Bay and Shoeburyness. Our walking advert is a separate job. You would be the one minding the dog in the owner's home.
Visits at midday, nights at the house, longer cover over half term: all are possible. You follow the routine you are given, feed the dog, give medication if needed, let it out, walk it, keep it company and send a daily update. Sitters who reply quickly tend to be rebooked.
WoofWalk will not be your employer, and no wage is paid. We cannot promise bookings either, since we only run the app that owners use. Visit and night prices are for you to decide. Owners pay in the app and then you are paid out to your bank. You arrange your own tax, National Insurance and insurance cover. We found no Southend sitting price to pass on.
If you want dogs to stay at your address, that is home boarding, and a licence from the council is needed beforehand. In the app it is listed as a service of its own. House sitting needs no licence.
Costs
nothing to join and nothing for 14 days. Then 15% of each booking. At five of your own clients joined through you, the rate is 10% for life. Clients you bring yourself are on 10% from their very first booking.
Over 18 only, please. Apply on Find a Job and say which parts of Southend you can reach and whether overnights are fine.
