About this role
Wells is England's smallest city, so this advert is really for the whole area around it: Glastonbury, Shepton Mallet and the Mendip villages. We want two self-employed pet sitters to look after dogs in their owners' own homes while the owners are away. Walking is a different job, advertised separately.
A sitter might come for a visit or two a day, or stay overnight for a weekend, or take a whole week. You keep to the owner's routine, feed the dog, give any medication, let it out, take it for a walk, keep it company and send a daily update.
Here is what you should know about the arrangement. Pricing is yours to decide, per visit and per night. WoofWalk does not pay wages, as it is a booking app and not an employer, and there are no promises of work. The owner pays through the app and the payout goes to your bank. Keeping tax, National Insurance and insurance in order is yours to do. We have found no Wells sitting price, so none is quoted.
If you were considering having dogs live at your own place, note that this is home boarding and needs a licence from the council before you start. In the app it is a separate service. House sitting at the owner's home needs no licence.
Free to join. No commission for 14 days. After that 15% of each booking, dropping to 10% for life once five of your own clients have joined through you. Your own clients pay 10% from day one.
Over 18. Apply on Find a Job, telling us how far into the Mendips you can travel and whether overnights are fine.
