About this role

Stirling has a university, a castle and a lot of households that are away for work or holidays. We want three self-employed pet sitters to look after dogs in the owners' own homes: one for the city, one for Bridge of Allan and the university and one for Bannockburn and the south. If you want walking work, see our other advert. This one is for sitters.

Visits, nights and longer stays are all part of it. You follow the owner's routine, feed the dog, give any medication, let it out, walk it, keep it company, and then tell the owner each day how it went. Students with free weeks in the holidays often do well.

WoofWalk does not employ sitters. It runs the booking app and nothing more, so no wage is paid and work is not guaranteed. Each sitter decides the price per visit and per night. Owners pay through the app and the money is paid out to your bank account. Tax, National Insurance and insurance cover are yours to organise. Our research gave no Stirling sitting figure.

In Scotland the council licenses home boarding, meaning dogs staying at your own address, and you need that licence before you begin. It appears as a separate service in the app. Looking after a dog at the owner's home needs none.

The first 14 days carry no commission. Joining is free. Following that, WoofWalk takes 15% of each booking. Bring five clients of your own and the rate becomes 10% for life; clients you bring yourself pay 10% from day one.

Over 18 only. Apply on Find a Job saying which of the three areas you can reach and whether overnights suit you.
